I wish we would have videotaped her reaction of excitement when daddy came home from work (then again we wish we would have videotaped a lot of things). Five days a week, every week of the year Elyse did the same thing and had the same reaction each time. Elyse and I were usually in the family room or kitchen when the garage door would open. As she heard the loud, squeaking sound of the garage door opening her head slightly tilted and looked at the door connecting the house to the garage. Elyse quickly turning to me with a face that expressed the question, “Is it dad or someone else?”. “It’s ok. It’s dad.” I say, reassuring her as she smiled from ear to ear running so fast sometimes almost skidding to the door. Her little hands made into fists knock on the door then pause waiting to hear him. “Knock, knock” comes the sound from the other side of the door. Oh what thrill that brought her! Elyse knocks again and the door opens wide as she screams with delight. She loved when daddy came home!
