Spoons, Forks, and Knives

Elyse was one of the biggest helpers.  She was very good about unloading the dishwasher.  Putting away the silverware was her chore, although I would quickly pull out the knives before she got to them.  With a smile on her face she unloaded as much silverware as her little hands could bear to hold.  She carefully walked over to the opened drawer and on her tippy toes dropped them in.  She continued to do so with a beat in her step until each one was put away.  Elyse started becoming faster, finishing before I could unload the rest of the dishes and she’d then proceed to hand me plates and glasses.  It may seem like such a simple task but to her she was doing an adult job and took such great pride in it.
